Jost Garage is dedicated to going green by recycling parts that are mechanically reliable and result in a safely operational vehicle. We also ensure the vehicle maintains its prior condition. These recycled parts reduce waste from land-fills as well as saves the manufacturing resources it would otherwise use to make new parts.
Another way Jost Garage supports eco-friendly business practices is by recycling anti-freeze, and this is why we do it. Ethylene glycol, the primary active ingredient in antifreeze, is produced from natural gas, which is a finite, non-renewable resource. Conventional antifreeze lasts only two or three years. Different chemicals in extended-life coolants allow it to last five years or 150,000 miles. Heavy-duty, extended-life antifreeze lasts between 400,000 and 600,000 miles with the use of a one-time extender.
